Data Reorganization

The DARPA Data Reorganization Effort, funded by the Information Technology Office (ITO) under BAA9706 (Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. is the prime contractor; MPI Software Technology, Inc. was a subcontractor), is a focused effort aimed at providing specific attention on the problem of data reorganization in High Performance Computing, with some special emphasis on embedded High Performance Computing. In particular efforts to examine Application Programmer Interfaces (APIs), algorithms, and application requirements are in scope. Both "transpose" and "reshape" issues are in scope; both clique and bi-partite redistribution is in scope.

This reflector serves as a meeting place for information about the meetings, discussion that goes on during the period of meetings, and a reporsitory for pertinent related information about the data reorganization problem, and technologies to support its solution, including links to research and results outside the working group. An open series of meetings will culminate in a report that offers specific recommendations, results, and lickages to other standards, such as MPI/RT Forum, MPI Forum, VSIP Forum, DISA COE, and TASP DSP COE.

The VSIPL++ effort drew some inspiration from ths effort as well (see VSIPL Standard Home, and Original VSIPL pages).
